These differentiated activities will make your job so much easier, because you’ll use the same text with all students but you can provide them with just the right level of questions so all students are challenged!

Who are these French reading activities best for?

These French holiday reading activities are appropriate for beginning Core French students and immersion classes beginning to work on comprehension. These passages are intended for first or second year students.

Use these French holiday reading activities with your different proficiency levels by choosing the appropriate activity for your students! Each text has three activities, so you can assign them to students or let them choose!

Each reading passage includes:

• Short answer English questions and students can answer in English : These questions will be the easiest for Core French beginners.
• Short answer French questions : This has the same style of questions as the English, however, the questions are in French and students are directed to answer in French. These are best for your more-advanced learners or French immersion classes.
• Multiple choice questions in French : Occasionally, students will locate specific information in the text. These are great for any level, as the questions are a bit different than the short answer versions.

You can choose all one version for a class, but I like to use different versions based on student levels so that differentiation is super-easy! You can always print 2 versions back-to-back and let students choose their own activity.
