Need intermediate French resources? If you teach students who have had more than a few years of French and are moving on to work on more complicated structures, it can be challenging to find the best resources! While these classes can be really fun to teach, they can be hard to prepare for. You need to provide just the right challenge without frustrating students, but the grammatical concepts can be so difficult for some students.
Here are a few of my favorite intermediate French Resources.
This resource includes 124 writing prompts that are perfect for intermediate and advanced students to discuss a variety of topics. With a slideshow and a printable version, it’s really versatile and a big time-saver!
“So far my students are loving this! They love the variety of subjects they can write about and the premade sheets are a life saver.”
Need intermediate French resources for reading comprehension? These short reading passages are perfect to help students build confidence as they work with activities just right for them!
Each reading passage has 3 differentiated question sheets so that all students can be challenged. The multiple choice sheets can be used as a quick reading assessment. The French short answer sheets are great for students who are a little more advanced. The English question sheets allows students to answer in English so you can check their comprehension even if they struggle a bit to produce writing.
With texts for intermediate concepts like l’imparfait, le subjonctif, le futur simple, and le conditionnel, it’s an easy way to reinforce grammar in context.
“Highly recommend this resource – it’s great! Each reading contains the perfect amount of text to focus on reading comprehension and writing conventions. I love having the two options for comprehension questions. These can be used for morning work, centres or even homework. It has definitely been a time saver too! Very satisfied!”
Teaching the French imparfait is one of my favorite units! It’s so fun to get students talking about when they were young! This bundle of intermediate French resources for the imparfait is perfect for both core and immersion classes needing structure practice mixed with LOTS of fun ways to practice!
“There are so many activities to use no apply right away: face to face mini dialogues to practice oral skills in groups; games to play in small groups; sufficient grammar practice…. The resource is ready to take and use with great success. Great resource to use during independent times or in groups. Madame R means great quality !”
Teaching le futur simple? This French bundle has so many fun and engaging resources plus helpful visuals and no-prep worksheets so you can spend less time planning and more time engaging with your students.
“Incredible resource once again!! Everything you need to help hit all the ACTFL standards and grow students’ proficiency. My students just loved their packets, and it helped them feel confident with future, and the class activities were also very engaging and fun. Also I found the evaluation rubric to be incredibly handy and fast to provide immediate feedback to students. Highly recommend this bundle!”
With hands-on practice and movement-based activities plus easy-to-understand notes and worksheets, this bundle is both fun and engaging. Use the Boom Cards™ for self-checking practice, assign homework with easy-to-use sheets, and get students speaking and engaged with a variety of speaking activities.
“This resource has been so excellent for teaching le conditionnel! My students are engaged and learning the content very quickly through the activities as I’ve been able to reinforce concepts for a variety of learners. I’m so glad that I purchased this resource as it has saved me HOURS of time and stress.”
A lot of teachers (and students!) get stressed about the French subjunctive, but it doesn’t have to be so hard! If you start with the right resources, intermediate students can start to work with subjunctive conjugations and they might even have fun doing it!
This bundle is the perfect place to start for students who have never seen (or heard of) the subjunctive, but it’s also great for any students needing a review, too. With fun games and speaking activities plus no-prep worksheets, it’s sure to save you time as you plan your subjunctive unit.
“Students told me this was one of the best packages they have ever received and wanted to keep them for notes for the years to come! Extremely well done!”
