10 Fun French Christmas songs

French Christmas songs to listen to with students

These French Christmas songs are sure to be a hit in your classroom this December!

I love using music in my French classroom, because it is such a fun and easy way to get students excited about new vocabulary. It helps them learn French expressions, discover new words, and even memorize French verbs! Listening to songs is the perfect way to complement French Christmas activities in class.

You can create cloze activities with these French Christmas songs, show the videos, have a sing-along, or just play them during work time for a fun festive class period!

Here are a few of my favorite French Christmas songs.

Douce nuit, Sainte nuit

This is my favorite Christmas song in English, and I love it just as much in French! I particularly like this version, because the kids sound so sweet.

Petit Papa Noël

I love this song! We have it on our French Christmas songs playlist, and it always comes on while we are decorating the tree. I can’t help but sing along! I like this version by Gloria Palermo de Blasi, because my classes have always loved listening to Kids United.

Noël blanc

This is another one of my favorites in French and English, and this version from Céline Dion is too pretty. I’m not a huge fan of winter, but I do love a white Christmas, too.

Vive le vent

This one is just really fun, and even kids who haven’t had a lot of French will love trying to sing the chorus. We used to have a singing competition in class with prizes to the best singer, and this is always the song they wanted to sing.

Mon beau sapin

This is one of the first French Christmas songs I learned decades ago as a young girl in school. It always warms my heart remembering singing this in school.

Au Royaume du Bonhomme Hiver

This one is just a fun winter-themed song that is really fun to sing with on a snowy day.

Noël tout blanc

This French Christmas song from Québec Issime is really catchy. Don’t let the title get you – it’s a totally different song from Noël blanc. It’s got tons of Christmas-themed words and a variety of singers, making it especially beautiful.

Père Noël arrive ce soir

This is a favorite sing-along, so your kids will probably know this one in English. It’s one of my kids’ favorite French Christmas songs every year!

Le petit renne au nez rouge

I’ve never had a class who didn’t love this one!

Nous vous souhaitons un Joyeux Noël

This one is pretty fast, but because it’s very familiar, my students had a lot of fun trying to sing along.

I hope you found some French Christmas songs your students will love!

Joyeux Noël !
