Free French Fall Resources for Core and Immersion

FREE French fall resources!

Fall is here! Cooler days, falling leaves, homecoming, and Halloween are amazing, but shorter days and lots of activities can make for tired teachers. Having fun French fall resources for your class can help save you some time and energy.  Below you’ll find some French freebies that I hope your students will love!

Why use seasonal activities in class when you have so much to do?

A little seasonal fun can liven things up a bit and might be just the break you (and your kids) need! Sometimes we feel so pressured to get through our curriculum that we go from one unit to the next and don’t always stop to teach anything that isn’t from our textbook (if we have one!)

The truth is, students need exposure to all sorts of vocabulary, and that doesn’t always come from a textbook, a district, or a school board. If we want them to attain true fluency, adding in everyday vocabulary about the seasons or holidays should be included in our lessons.

To help you add in some seasonal vocabulary without a lot of work on your part, I’ve created a few free French fall resources that can be used with a variety of ages and levels. Even if you teach a LOT of levels, you can hopefully put them to good use. 🙂

French fall resources for Halloween

These French Halloween writing pages are a lot of fun to use any time you want to bring some seasonal fun into the classroom. This set includes 5 prompts with writing pages, so it’s easy to differentiate for different student levels. You’ll also get three ways I use writing prompts in my classroom, so it’s easy to add a little variety.

Don’t want to do an activity for Halloween? You can still grab this quick writing activity for beginners and younger students. It’s great for fast finishers, as a quick review, or any time you want a short activity to encourage students to use some fall-themed words. It’s one of my favorite French fall resources to have on hand for subs or for those times when I need a quick French writing activity for my beginners.

French fall resources for verb conjugation

Looking to review verbs with a fall theme? These French verb conjugation worksheets include a page for present tense verbs, and there is another page with a multi-tense activity for the présent, passé composé, futur simple, and imparfait. Students will get a handy vocabulary list with fall-themed words they can use for all of their fall activities.

It’s the perfect way to keep working on your curriculum standards while also exposing students to new vocabulary they are not going to learn from a textbook!

French fall Boom Cards™

Have you check out Boom Cards™ yet? These digital task cards are so much fun! They work on a variety of devices, they check themselves, and students LOVE them!  I’ve got a free set for fall, and it’s a forever freebie! Click here to grab this set and check them out! They are only available at Boom Learning℠, so you won’t find them on TpT!

These cards are a student favorite, because students can work at their own pace, and the instant feedback lets them know exactly how they’re doing! If you have students who don’t like to write, it’s a really nice break from a French worksheet while still practicing French vocabulary in a fun way.

Hi there! I didn’t send anything out like that, so maybe it was another teacher who shared it.
