Looking for some French Halloween games to play with your Core French, French immersion, or FSL class? I’ve got you covered! Below you’ll find some of my favorite French Halloween games to review vocabulary and verbs and really engage your students with fun French speaking and listening activities! Whether you’re looking for something for your class party or for Halloween week, you’ll find some easy-to-prep French games for Halloween.
Here are 4 of my favorite French Halloween games:
French Halloween Bingo
I love this game, because you can just have a quick game for a class party or when you have extra class time, and you don’t have to do a lot of prep. Students of all ages love Bingo, and it’s a fun and easy way to engage students at times when they might be a little less focused.
This set includes 35 French bingo boards and a printable vocabulary list for students to use during game play, so you can even play this with big classes with very little prep!
Use the image-based calling cards to help support younger learners or print off the word calling cards for a more challenging game.
French Halloween J’ai… Qui a… game
J’ai … qui a … is a fun game to practice listening skills as you review some French vocabulary. You can play a few times and encourage students to listen well so you can finish faster and faster. They’ll love the challenge as they try to move as quickly as possible through the whole game.
The object of the game is to go full circle with all of the cards. The player with “J’ai la première carte” starts and the game ends with “Qui a la première carte?” You’ll get 30 cards so you can easily play this with big classes. If you have more than 30 students, simply pair a few student up, and if you have less than 30 students, give some students two cards.
The game includes cards with French words and cards with images only, so it’s easy to make it more challenging for students who are ready to play with a little less support.
French Halloween board games
These French Halloween games are a ton of fun for practicing French vocabulary and verbs in small groups. Students will love playing with classmates to create original sentences using the French Halloween vocabulary or verbs. Set includes three games, so you can play one game with your beginners and practice your choice of verb tense with your intermediate and advanced classes.

French Halloween Vocabulary Slap Game
This French game is by-far my students’ favorite! It’s fun, fast-paced, and involves movement that gets kids really motivated to win! It’s a fun way to practice listening skills and review vocabulary, but you can print them back to back to use as flashcards print just one side and play a game of concentration at a learning center.
This game contains printable vocabulary cards that you cut out and have the students place face up on the table.
There are two options for playing this French game:
- Use the French word cards and call out the word in English. Students race to find the corresponding French word.
- Use the image cards and call out the French words. Students race to find the corresponding card.
