Helpful French classroom decor

ShareTweetPinterest

Looking for French classroom decor ideas? You’re in the right place!

As a long-time core and immersion teacher who has moved classrooms SO many times, I can say that I have spent a LOT of time decorating my classroom!

While decorations are fun, and they definitely make your classroom prettier, they need to be functional, too! From helping students with their French verb conjugation or encouraging them to speak more French in class, having the right French classroom posters can offer a great visual support to your students.

Bonus? You create a space you love to be in! So, whether it’s la rentrée or just time for a fun update, maybe some of these are just what you need!

Here are some of my favorite French classroom decor items:

French classroom expressions posters

These are really helpful for beginning French students who are hesitant to speak French. It puts all of the necessary classroom expressions in sight. This means students can use the prompts as support so they can communicate in French as much as possible.

You can place them around your room or create a bulletin board with useful expressions like this one here:

French alphabet posters

These French posters are really helpful for both core and immersion classes! They include the French accents and also printable pages for students with the letters and example words plus accents and their uses.

The letter posters include two versions – with letter lines and without, so if you move grades, you’ll still have a set to use.

French classroom rules

I think it’s really important to have the rules posted, and for years, I had one large poster with all my rules. Eventually, though, I realized I like having a separate poster for each rule so I can focus on what is important to me with each group. Some years, I put them all up and other times I focus on five or six rules for my students.

This set of French classroom rules posters includes 17 rules so you can pick and choose what works for you. Want to add your own? There is an editable template so you can create a few posters, too.

French verb posters

This set of posters for regular French verbs is a great way to support beginning French students with both the conjugation and an image to help them remember the new vocabulary they learn. The set includes regular French -er, -ir, and -re verbs and it also has printable verb charts you can pass out to students for their binders.

French classroom calendar set

Want an easy and decorative way to post the date everyday? This calendar set doubles as pretty French classroom decor and an effective tool to help you reinforce the days of the week and the dates with your students all year. The large month and day cards that are perfect for laminating and using on your board.

The set also includes 3×3 cards for the date and days of the week that are perfect for your pocket charts. Want to highlight some holidays or special days? There are 3×3 cards with images for celebrating special days in your classroom, too.

Bonus? If you also teach Spanish or need a set in English, this is included, too!

French classroom supply labels

Maybe you’re like me and you just love things to be super-organized… or maybe you don’t love it but want to make the effort to keep things in their place once and for all!

This French classroom decor set of classroom supply labels can be used as part of a French word wall or as a way to label your items. You can also put them around the room on different items to help beginning French students learn new words.

This set includes larger labels that will print 2 per page on an 8.5 X 11″ sheet. It also includes the version shown here that will print 4 to a page that is great for labeling drawers and bins.

You’re welcome! I mostly create resources for elementary and secondary classes, but perhaps there are some posters that would work for your younger students. 🙂
